Tired of using positive affirmation that just doesn't give positive results?

Find out why the standard way of doing affirmations is Hogwash, and what are the 2 magical ingredients, that when added will turbo charge and guarantee you amazing results!

What is positive affirmation? You've probably come across books or websites that talks about the benefits and wonders of affirmations.

You've probably, like me, tried affirmations in a bid to improve ourselves, but ended up feeling no improvements at all. Nada, zero, zilch!

So, what went wrong?

Positive affirmations are positive self-talk that peps you up and helps you be more positive in life and all things you do, by changing your belief system through influencing your subconscious mind.

If you keep up with this, you will learn to change your beliefs and perceptions of many things, including how you respond to any situation that will which will in turn change your response to stress.

The story of my dog - Spot

I have a dog named Spot. Spot was tied to a leash to prevent him from venturing too far out. Initially he would tug at the leash with all his might trying to free himself.

Eventually he gave up and would just roam about the circumference where the leash was tied to a point near a tree.

One day, I decided that he was too big to be tied to such a short leash.

I extended his leash, and to my amazement, he was staying within the permissible area.

Eventually, I took him gently by the collar and lead him out, so that the leash was fully extended.

From then onwards he was able to enjoy a much bigger area of freedom.

Many times, we create our own limitation through our belief system. We become limited not by reality, but by what we perceive as our reality.

Let's say you used to be shy and lack confidence.

By using positive affirmation, you managed to convince yourself that you are positive and confident.

In the past, task like attending social functions and interaction with people will give you stress, but as you see yourself more confident, you will not view the same situation as stressful anymore.

Be a Director - write your own script!

The way to do affirmations is to write out your 'script'.

This 'script' will be read out by you everyday, the idea is that the affirmations will 'stick' and change you when you are exposed to it on a daily basis. A few rules regarding the 'script' that you have to know:

Always write in the present tense, as if you already are, or have already achieved. eg. I am slim, trim and healthy looking. Do not say I will be slim, trim and healthy looking.

Use positive language. eg. I am smoke free and enjoy the breathe of fresh air and the new found energy. Do not say I will kick my 20 stick a day smoking habit.

You must be as specific as possible. Instead of saying I am slim now, say I am slim and have lost 20 pounds.

It must be believable. If you affirm something you cannot accept at a subconscious level, you will not see results. Keep a balance, your goals should not be so easy that you are not motivated, likewise it should not be so difficult that you find it unachievable. A worthwhile level to aim for is: It should scare you a bit, but excites you a lot.

That's it. Simple. You can now create your own 'script' of the life you want.

You could tag your 'script' to convenient places where you would visit everyday. A good place would be near the bathroom mirror, so that you could read and recite the affirmations to yourself every morning.

Two 'secret' ingredients

I know you might be one of those who have tried positive affirmation and might be thinking 'But I have tried it and it doesn't work".

Fact is we are all using it on a daily basis, and if you are like most people, you are already an expert at 'negative affirmations' constantly thinking of all the negative things that could happen to you.

I've tried positive affirmation and was not getting the results I want initially.

Huh..what did I just say? Not effective? Then why am I sharing this with you if it is not effective?

Notice I said 'initially'? That is because I have found that if you want to fully exploit the powers of positive affirmation, you have to combine it with two other techniques to really work it.

Let's proceed to the section on Creative Visualization (& feelings) where I will show you how you can harness the power of positive affirmation to effect that permanent change..
