The vital link for better stress management
The relationship between stress and nutrition cannot be over emphasized. In fact, as the saying goes "You are what you eat". Good Nutrition has always been the foundation of good health.
So what role does nutrition play when we are under stress?
When stress occurs, proper nutrition bolsters our resistance against the effects of stress. Also, under stressful conditions, essential nutrients that helps fight against stress are depleted quickly.
Your body in response to stress, craves certain addictive stuffs which are supposed to maintain the stress levels in your body. These include smoking, caffeine, alcohol, sweets and salt.
Now why does our body act in such a way?
One explanation is that our body wants to build up its resistance to stress in future, and achieve this by trying to stimulate and prolong the stress condition.
